Theresa Won't Go

The lyrics here are a movable feast. The live performance is now sung in the third person, but for now, these are the lyrics as they appear in and on the video.

No No No No

No No I will not go

I'm pretty hard to overthrow

My name's Theresa and I won't go.

No No

I was feeling weak so I picked a fight

and all my friends said I was right

Now they say I lost but it ain't so

'cause my name's Theresa and I won't go.

No No

Well Old Canute sat in the sea

'til the tide came in and he had to flee

He ran away from the water's flow

Not me, Theresa, I won't go.

No No

I won't go out I'm stayin' in

I'm clinging on to hanging in

I'm sticking up for the status quo

My name's Theresa and I won't go.

No No

I'll make a deal with the DUP

or the Devil or the Donald he is keen on me

they can ask for anything I won't say no

'cause my name's Theresa and I won't go.

No No

Well we had a vote now there's a bill

It's about one hundred and fifty mill!

but what the heck we've blown the dough

My name's Theresa and I won't go

Notes

I wrote this on the Saturday morning after the 2017 general election and I thought, gosh! she can't last for long. So I recorded the song, made a video, stuck karoke lyrics on it, uploaded it to YouTube etc. all in about 24 hours.

Now, I wonder how long she will last...
